Any help, advice, info will be greatly appreciated! Also, when I updated the driver it never asked whether it needed Rosetta2. It appears like the computer has recognized the scanner but won't let me access it. I also changed the permissions for the app's folder. Okay, so I found the scanner app in my Library and changed the permissions. Also, the scanner window appears to partially open and then it displays a separate message: "Failed to open a connection to the device (-21345)" I don't know if this message is related to the permissions problem or a completely separate issue. Now when I attempt to open the scanner, I get the classic message "You do not have permission to open the application EPSON Scanner”. I installed the driver, turned on the scanner, and it is being displayed in the "Printers/Scanners" section of my System Preferences dialog box. I went to the Epson website and downloaded their latest driver which was listed as being seemingly compatible with Mac Big Sur. M1 Mac Mini and old Epson Perfection 2450 scanner I'm hoping I can still use my old (but still perfectly usable) Epson 2450 scanner with my new M1 Mac Mini.
